THE GIG PIC GUIDE #3: This weeks must see artists and shows

As the winter months draw in, it seems like the perfect opportunity to get cosy (and slightly sweaty) in a big gig crowd and enjoy live music. We’re starting to see the rise of the up and coming, especially bands, and now seems like the perfect time to check them out.  Here is Gig Pic’s Guide on who is worth spending your hard earned money on!

No one can ever deny a good sing-a-long to ‘Dance Dance’ or ‘This Ain’t A Scene’, it was practically the pinnacle to many of our pre-teen years – so it’s a good job Fall Out Boy decided to make their much anticipated comeback back in 2013. Pop-rock-punk legends released their sixth studio album on their return to the world of music, and have recently toured across America. They now bring their tour to arenas across the UK, carrying on in Manchester and ending in London. And you can get tickets here.

Reigning from Manchester; Adio Marchant, better known as Bipolar Sunshine has well and truly graced the music scene since starting out in 2012. He’s a million miles away from the typical Manchester Oasis and Courteeners genre – but don’t let it faze you! Tracks such as ‘Deckchairs On The Moon’ and ‘Day Dreamer’ really give you that laidback summer vibe that we all crave during the winter months. He’s collaborating with other artists to bring urban night ‘Grey’ to Manchester, playing at Soup Kitchen on the 22nd October. Tickets are available from here.

A soulful but soft voice, Rae Morris has captured the hearts of many with her debut album which was released at the beginning of this year, with praise coming from both Radio 1, Radio 2 as well as XFM. She also leant her heavenly voice to Bombay Bicycle Club’s single ‘Luna’, as well as supporting them and many others on tour. But now she takes on her own tour across the UK, where she performs in London tomorrow night and carrying on through to her finale in Southampton on the 15th October. A true gem not to be missed, and you can get tickets from here.

They’ve been dubbed as an indie band with psychedelic vibes, with some pretty good guitar riffs and lyrics thrown in – and they’re not wrong. Stockport band Blossoms have rose considerably in the world of music since forming in 2013. And in that short space of time, they’ve nailed some of the biggest music festivals across the UK, fast becoming known as the ones to watch. And now they embark on a tour playing in intimate venues across the country. Don’t miss the chance to see their talent live before they start selling out huge venues. Tickets can be bought from here.

Not many may have heard of this gem of a band, but they’re way into their million figures on Spotify. But in contrast to their rise in recognition, the rock band have admitted that if it was up to them they’d still have the band as their little secret. The Brighton quartet have been playing together in various bands for several years, but as a collective they are fairly new, but they seem to have perfected their laidback but rocky vibes. After their stint of supporting, and doing the full circuit of festivals this summer, they now have their own tour to take on, in Middlesbrough, Manchester and Glasgow just to name a few. Tickets available here.
