THE GIG PIC GUIDE #4: This weeks must see artists and shows

Everyone likes to listen to a bit of Electronic now and again, or a good ol’ powerful female ballad. And if you do – you’re in luck as some of the world’s biggest and upcoming artists take on their own headline tour across the UK in the next coming week. Check out our Gig Pic Guide on who we think is worth experiencing live, or even just listening to for the first time.

They’ve arguably been the soundtrack to the summer of 2015, and they don’t look like they’re about to stop any time soon either. The ‘Lean On’ hit makers; made up of producer Diplo, Jillionaire and Walshy Fire, have made a big impression in the world of Electronic music in recent years. They now embark on a mini tour across the UK, visiting Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester and London. They’re never in one place for long, so make sure you check them out. Tickets available here.

They were once crowned ‘The Ones to Watch’ and ‘BBC Sound of 2015’ and they’ve fully lived up to expectations throughout the past year. Olly Alexander, who was famed for his acting roles in Skins and The Riot Club – has graced the music scene alongside his band, with hits such as ‘Shine’, ‘Desire’ and ‘King’. It’s also fair to say they’ve earned their stripes on the festival circuit, after performing at over 20 major festivals over the summer. They now move onto bigger venues for their headline tour, performing in Newcastle, Leeds, Glasgow and Manchester starting this week. They’re definitely the ones not to miss, and you can buy your tickets here.

There’s been plenty of gossip and rumours over Charlie Simpson’s supposed return to pop group Busted, but one thing’s for sure – he isn’t giving up on Fightstar. The British rock band formed in 2003 after Simpson’s shock departure, and for over 12 years; despite a hiatus, the quartet are still going strong. They’ve just released a screamer ‘Sink With The Snakes’ which comes from their new album ‘Behind The Devils Back’. And to promote their new album, they set off on a tour starting in London on Saturday night and ending in Aberdeen at the end of the month. Tickets can be bought from here.

Soft, melodic voices are hard to come by these days, but Lucy Rose ticks all those boxes. Like Rae Morris, she also contributed her stunning vocals to some of tracks on Bombay Bicycle Club’s third and fourth studio album. She’s a regular to many of the UK’s most popular festivals, and has supported some of the biggest Indie bands. But now that summer is over and winter rolls in, she embarks on her own tour across the UK, playing in Cardiff, Bath, Carlisle and Manchester. Grab your tickets from here.

She made fame in her own right like many others nowadays, by posting covers and originals on YouTube. But American singer-songwriter Tori Kelly stands high above many others with her phenomenally powerful voice. She’s become huge over in the US, and the UK had the pleasure of getting to know Tori and her voice after she featured on Professor Green’s hit ‘Lullaby.’ And now she’s doing a special one-off show in London on the 16th at Koko, it is not to be missed so get your tickets from here.
