We’re speeding through November already, and as artists and bands finish off recording their albums, they take on a much needed trip across the UK to embark on their tours. This weeks Gig Pic Guide shows you who we think is worth checking out this week, from Pop artists to Indie Rock bands – there’s plenty to chose from.
Ebba Tove Elsa Nilsson, better known by her stage name Tove Lo, arguably had one of the biggest hits of 2014 with ‘Habits (Stay High)’ considering she almost came from nowhere. The Swedish star who was raised in a North suburb of Stockholm, has released several tunes since, with her most recent being ‘Moments’ which she recently released the dramatic video for. She now embarks on a UK tour across London, Manchester and Glasgow. You can grab tickets from here.
The red haired beauty has made herself pretty well known in the world of music, ever since making her debut with Clean Bandit’s hit single ‘Rather Be.’ Despite having vocal chord surgery at the beginning of Summer, she still covered an impressive amount of festivals. She then went on to release her much anticipated album ‘I Cry When I Laugh’ which went straight to the top of the charts and continued to stay there for a lengthy three weeks. The Irish 5 piece The Coronas have had quite a considerable amount of success over on their home turf in Ireland, as their album ‘The Long Way’ shot up straight to number one in the charts. They have been praised for their song-writing and heart-felt ballads, and still to this day the band are going strong on their own record label since all the way back in 2003. They now fly across the Irish sea to take on a tour across the UK, starting off in Manchester on Monday night and ending in Norwich on the 15th. You can buy tickets from here.
It isn’t hard to liken The Staves to the American trio HAIM, purely because they’re three sisters doing what they love. But folk rock group from Watford – compromised of Emily, Camilla and Jessica – have managed to put their on stamp of uniqueness which sets them apart from any other trio about right now. Their ethereal voices and guitar playing skills go hand in hand to produce melodic and chilled songs, which sound incredible live. Staffordshire born Dan Croll is one of LIPA’s finest alumni, and it all started after winning a national Songwriter Of The Year award, where he had the opportunity to have a one-to-one with The Beatles legend Paul McCartney. Since then, he’s gone onto support the likes of Bastille, Imagine Dragons and London Grammar. He’s now onto recording his second studio album, but before then he goes on tour across cities including Liverpool, Manchester and also London. You can buy tickets from here.
