WEEK IN REVIEW: The best bits from this week!

Chemical Brothers at Apple Music Festival

This week saw the start of the Apple Music festival and dave92 captured an awesome photo of Chemical Brothers at the London’s Roundhouse. Tickets for the festival were free but hard to get hold of due to high demand. The 10 day festival involved the likes of Ellie Goulding, Take That and Disclosure (to name a few!) The Chemical Brothers have had a busy summer performing at festivals such as Creamfields and Glastonbury but are heading over to Brazil in November before touring the rest of South America. Hopefully we will see them in the UK soon playing those unmissable sets!

Bon Jovi at Singapore Grand Prix

A pic that definitely made the Gig Pic team jealous this week was one from mikerawsthorne, who was lucky enough to see Bon Jovi at the Singapore Grand Prix! With the city skyline in the background it surely made an extravagant setting for these legends of rock. Bon Jovi are currently touring Asia, with Abu Dhabi being next on the list. However the US band was put under difficult circumstances in China earlier this month after their gigs were cancelled by the Chinese government for reasons unknown. Even though Hamilton didn’t win this race I’m sure Bon Jovi put on a show to remember.

Mac Demarco at the The Albert Hall in Manchester

A little closer to home, was a picture sent in by emilyjkirkham3207 who saw Mac Demarco at The Albert Hall in Manchester. This “slacker rock” Canadian has captured a large UK fanbase and has been on tour recently for his new album ‘Another One’. His unique style seemed to match the archaic venue adding to the already crazy atmosphere. Macs heading back to the States now to do another tour, but we’re certain the 25 year old will be back here soon with another album.

The Courteeners at Ibiza Rocks

Now I’m sure you heard that Gig Pic were in Ibiza recently at ‘Ibiza Rocks’ and this next picture is from harrissed123 who saw Courteeners perform at the closing party of this years festival. The Manchester born band have just sold out their UK tour, which kicks off in November at Stoke Victoria Hall, having released their extremely popular album ‘Concrete Love’ last year. The Courteeners recently played at the famous Heaton Park and are on course to becoming one of the biggest bands of the decades. We love these guys at Gig Pic and can’t wait to see them again soon.
