Years & Years to tour Europe and release new album!

Latest News, UK

As Years & Years prepare to release their hotly anticipated second album ‘Palo Santo’ on July 6th, they have announced their biggest ever UK and European run of tour dates which includes a massive London show at the O2 Arena.

The last few months have seen Years & Years once again rise to the very forefront of British pop. With current single ‘If You’re Over Me’ currently continuing its thrilling ascent up the
charts, the Olly-Alexander-fronted trio have never felt so unstoppable. Last week alone they played a dazzling set at Capital’s Summertime Ball, premiered their short film ‘Palo Santo’ at BAFTA, and performed ‘If You’re Over Me’ on Graham Norton.

It’s no surprise then that today the band have announced an arena tour of the UK in November alongside an equally impressive string of European tour dates for early 2019. Years & Years will bring their very own, self-created, fascinating world of ‘Palo Santo’ properly to life at Glasgow’s Hydro SSE Arena on the 28th November and reach London’s prestigious O2 Arena on the 5th December. The band will then start 2019 with a run of great headline shows in Europe – full tour dates are below.

‘Palo Santo’ – the band’s glorious second album – will be released on July 6th. Always band intuitively connected to great, homespun British pop classicism, ‘Palo Santo’ is an album that confirms Years & Years’ ascension to the world stage. At the core of it all is Olly Alexander, a once-in-a-generation front-man who understands more than most his responsibility as a pop star. His personal leap forward in scope and ambition is reflected in the album’s colorful mix of collaborators, which range from Kid Harpoon, Greg Kurstin, Julia Michaels and Justin Trantor to Steve Mac, Jessie Shatkin and Sarah Hudson. On ‘Palo Santo’, and indeed in their highly celebrated live show, Years & Years’ impact on pop feels truly tribal, one in which the minority is always the majority, and everyone is welcome.

Years & Years tour dates:

28/11 The SSE Hydro, Glasgow
29/11 O2 Apollo, Manchester
30/11 Barclaycard Arena, Birmingham
04/12 Brighton Centre, Brighton
05/12 The O2 Arena, London

25/01 AFAS Live, DS Amsterdam-Zuidoost
26/01 Sporthalle Hamburg, Hamburg
28/01 TAP1, Copenhagen
29/01 Sentrum Scene, Oslo
30/01 Annexet, Stockholm
01/02 Torwar Arena, Warsaw
03/02 Zenith, Munich
04/02 Fabrique, Milan
06/02 Palladium, Köln
07/02 Lotto Arena, Belgium

BEAT-HERDER FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES FINAL ACTS FOR 2018

Latest News, UK

Beat-Herder, the weirdest, wildest and most wonderful party in the UK festival calendar, announces final names for 2018. Running from 13th – 15th July, Beat-Herder will once again transform Lancashire’s Ribble Valley into a technicolour party and escapist’s utopia, with an array of 20+ whimsical stages, world-class DJs and surprises aplenty.

Joining the likes of Orbital, Soulwax, Django Django, High Contrast Live, David Rodigan (MBE), Congo Natty and The Rezistance Live, Patrick Topping and Pete Tong for this year’s event will be one of Norway’s finest exports, Lindstrøm. The acclaimed space-disco wizard will be taking to the main stage on Saturday.

Headlining the Trash Manor, Beat-Herder’s eccentric courtyard of chaos, on Friday night will be the UK’s finest disco operators Horse Meat Disco while over in The Factory, Bugged Out / Back To Basics resident and long-time Chemical Brothers associate James Holroyd will play alongside Happy Mondays legend Bez and K-Klass, the electronic duo who emerged in the late 80s and went on to become an omnipresent remixing team on the British house scene throughout the 90s, earning them a Grammy nomination in 2002.

Also announced today is Beat-Herder’s comedy line up, which this year features talents such as Mock The Week regular Gary Delaney; Bobby Mair, one of Canada’s hottest exports and rising stars (and Justin Bieber’s third cousin, no less); Seymour Mace who is described as ‘a truly bizarre hybrid of Harry Hill, Half Man Half Biscuit and Viz comic’; baby-faced Mancunion Jay Hampson and more.

Music and comedy are just part of the experience at Beat-Herder. Entirely handmade from scratch, the stages stand out as something truly different in the increasingly identikit festival landscape. That attention to detail creates an immersive world full of beguiling and intriguing creative concepts. Which other festivals give you the opportunity to explore underground tunnels, dance to drum and bass in a chapel or get inked in the functioning tattoo parlour? And if the hedonism gets a little too much, guests can slow the pace by lounging in the heated hidden swimming pool or enjoy some retro entertainment at the site’s very own working men’s club.

Beat-Herder continues to exist as it did back when it started as a free DIY party in 1998: uncompromising, unwavering and distinguished by an overwhelming sense of community. Its reputation as one of the friendliest festivals around can be attributed to its loyal followers – friends, couples and families who create new memories to cherish in a bold and barmy atmosphere each summer.

Tier 4 tickets are now available for £150.00 plus booking fee are also available. The Beat-Herder Bombassador programme is also open, allowing loyal fans the chance to get free tickets and money-can’t-buy experiences.

The Total Raised By The One Love Manchester Concert Revealed

Latest News, UK

The country was shook by the bombings at The Manchester Arena on May 22nd, prompting a huge ‘One Love Manchester’ event.

£18 million has been raised to help the victims of the Manchester terror attack which caused 23 fatalities during an explosion following an Ariana Grande concert.

The 24-year-old popstar helped to organise the fundraising gig at Emirates Old Trafford on June 4th which featured the likes of Katy Perry, Liam Gallagher, Coldplay and Justin Bieber.

In a statement, Councillor Sue Murphy said: “The city and the world responded with such extreme kindness, generosity and solidarity in the aftermath of the Manchester Arena attack.

“Thanks to this we have raised more than £18 million and we were conscious that we had to get some of swiftly this to those with immediate needs.

“We have therefore given around a third of the total to the bereaved families and £3.5 million to those who were hospitalised after the attack.”

Councillor Murphy revealed that “over half” of the funds raised by the gig have already been allocated, with each family estimated to have received £250,000.

But of how the remaining money will be awarded, Councillor Murphy explained: “This will be a complex and sensitive process as we will need to assess the long-term impacts of the attack.
